September Favourites 2015

The fact it's now October is slightly freaking me out...it'll be Christmas before we know it!
I always think the months fly by, but I really don't know where September went, I seemed to only blink and it was over. As quick as it went I still managed to find a firm few favourites over this month, a couple of new products and a couple of old loves that I've returned to.

Let's start with makeup, and a lipstick I've owned for quite some time. Kate Moss lipsticks by Rimmel are my favourite lipsticks on the highstreet, by far. The quality, colour selection and longevity is outstanding for the price and it's also the brand of my favourite nude. Rimmel Kate Moss in 03 (£5.49) is my go to nude lipstick, it's not at all wishy washy, it doesn't wash my out and it's got a great mixture of pink and brown with a gorgeously glossy finish that I adore. You can read my in-depth review here, but if you're looking for a new nude I'd recommend trying this one out...I've been wearing it non-stop!
Next up is a new find, that I've only been using for a few days but I had to include it because it's not often I find a concealer I get on with. I've heard plenty of people rave about the Maybelline Eraser Eye (£7.99) but as it's marketing as anti-aging I never thought to try it, until recently. It's a great under eye concealer! It comes with a sponge applicator which makes the product easy to dab on, and it covers dark circles very well. It's not overly brightening, but it gives the coverage I'm after.
Finally for makeup is a mascara from Maybelline. Maybelline do some of the best mascaras out there I find, and there's so many different types to choose from, but the one I'm loving is the Lash Sensational Mascara (£7.99). Whenever I use this I feel like my eyes are 100X more defined and my lashes look fuller, longer and more fluttery. It doesn't clump at all, nor does it smudge which makes it an instant winner for me.

I have one clear skincare favourite this month, and it's actually a little sample I got free with a magazine! It's the Elemis Illuminating Beauty Flash Balm (£33)....I know, I know, I'm sure you've heard so much about this product before, but I'm here to remind you that it's just wonderful. The Beauty Flash Balm is a 'hybrid moisturiser' that helps to boost radiance, fight against moisture loss and energise the skin, all of which I think it does. I apply this before my foundation, and I have noticed a difference in how awake my skin looks and feels as well as my makeup lasting a lot longer. It's a pricey product at £33 for 50ml but it's totally worth it and I will be purchasing the full size once my little sample as run out.

Finally we have body care, the first being a hand cream, which I never thought I'd say as I hate hand creams! I hate the tacky feeling they normally leave, or the stickiness, or the horrid smells but this one really makes my skin feel silky smooth and hydrated. It's the Mint and Bergamot hand cream by Neals Yard (£10). As the name suggests it's got a zesty fragrance, which I can imagine some people possibly not liking but I find it fresh and soothing. I tend to only apply this before bed, but it feels gorgeous and the smell helps me relax.
Last but not least is a deodorant. Does it seem weird to have a deodorant in a monthly favourites? Maybe a little, but bear with me. Recently I read an article on the dangers of the normal deodorants we may use every day (namely Sure, Dove, Michem, etc) and how there is strong evidence to suggest the chemicals in them contribute to the development of breast cancer and Alzheimers Disease, which is horrifying. After doing more research and understand how terrible these products are for our bodies I decided to switch to an 100% natural deodorant, and quite surprisingly I love it more than any other deodorant I've used before. I will be doing a full review, but it's the Salt Of The Earth natural deodorant (3.29), everyone buy it!
