The Products I Reach For The Most - Spring 2014

I like to switch around products I use quite a lot, but I thought I would share with you the things I have been reaching for almost every single day throughout the last few months.

I've always been had a problem with foundation not sitting right on my skin. It takes me ages to buff it in so it looks natural, and it can look either cakey or cling to dry patches (whatever foundation I choose), but recently I've been using the Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver and it's been sorting that problem out for me, it's becoming a holy grail product. Full review here.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation has quickly become my favourite foundation ever. I feel it just works well for my skin, it feels moisturising and fresh but still gives me a good coverage that isn't heavy.
NYX Blush in Taupe, I use this to contour. It's the absolute best shade for creating a shadow effect under the cheekbones on pale skin, far better than using a bronzer.
Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette. The best. All the shades are beautiful, creamy, pigmented, blendable and a dream. I use this every day! You can create so many different looks with it.
MAC Lipstick in Fanfare. I got this for my birthday in March and I adore it! It's a cremesheen finish, and I adore that formulation, the colour is so pretty and perfect for Spring.
Last but not least - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent  is just the best powder for me. I have dry skin so I don't like powder to be heavy, which Stay Matte isn't. It's nice and light but manages to keep foundation and concealer set in place for a long time.

Which products do you reach for the most?
I'd love to know!

MUA Undress Me Too Palette

Today I bring to you a cheap as chips eyeshadow palette that's a dupe, colour wise, for the cult classic Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

The MUA Undress Me Too (see what they did there with the name?) is a clear obvious attempt by MUA at creating a dupe for the Naked 2 palette. The colours of the eyeshadows are practically identical and even in the same order in the palettes, just with the MUA having 2 rows and Urban Decay being all on one strip. They've even called one of the shades Naked!

But enough of the comparisons, let's just get on with reviewing this bargain palette.
I'd heard a great deal about Undress Me Too from different bloggers, the majority singing it's praises, but I was still skeptical..I mean how pigmented can a 12 eyeshadow palette be when it's priced at £4?! Well, I shall tell you that to my shock they are brilliantly pigmented! Okay, they're not as pigmented as Urban Decay, but you definitely don't have to work hard to get good colour payoff from these shadows.

Top row of the palette
(2 of the shades are very light - hardly show up
in the photo)
Bottom row of the palette

As you can see from the swatches the shades with shimmer are definitely a lot more pigmented than the matte shades, which is often the case, and you do have to apply a few layers with the matte's to get the colour payoff that there is in the pan..but that's okay, I always layer up my shadows anyway.
All the eyeshadows are really wearable, great for everyday looks and you can easily create a smokey eye from them too.
With a primer these shadows last a good amount of time, without they will crease after a while - but I expected nothing else from a £4 palette so I'm not complaining!

All in all I totally recommend this little gem, especially if you can't afford the Naked 2 palette which is £30 more expensive! The quality isn't going to beat high-end brands, but the for the price it's unbeatable and a truly brilliant high-street/drugstore palette.

I'll be holding a GIVEAWAY including
one of the MUA palettes on my blog
very soon so make sure you're
don't miss out!

Dear Santa……..

It's almost December, which means it's almost Christmas…my favourite time of year! Yipee!
As it's almost that time again I thought I'd do a post on my Christmas whishlist, but before I start I just want to share a few DISCLAIMERS - 1. I know there's quite a few expensive things on this list, and by no means do I expect even one of the things mentioned, it's just a kind of dream wish list. 2. Christmas isn't about presents, I know, but it's nice to give and receive in a non greedy way. And this is just a fun post to do!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - this is something I've wanted for SO long now, it's beautiful.
• One Direction This Is Us DVD - yes, I'm a 1D fan and proud of it.
Alpha H Liquid Gold - I'm a bit obsessed with skincare and I've heard amazing things about this.
Slipper boots - the ones in the photo are from Next.
• Christmas pyjama bottoms - those fleece ones from Primark look amazing!
Urban Outfitters watch
Mac painpot in Painterly - I need a good eyeshadow base and this is meant to be brilliant.
Origins Mask Marvels - I've wanted to try all these mask for a while, they're in a bargain set for Christmas! Selling out fast though!
• Coffee syrups - yummy.
• New perfume? I've just ran out of my favourite which is Tommy Hilfiger Loud.
Yankee Candle - I desperately want a Winter candle and the Christmas Eve one sounds incredible - there's 25% OFF with the link I included! The other one that sounds amazing is Christmas Cookie, but that one may be too sweet, also 25% off on the website linked!
Moroccan oil - I just want nice soft hair please.
• Ring Set from NewLook or any ring set with more thing and plain rings.
Necklace from Topshop

Other things I'd love are a Mac lipstick, new clothes because I'm in desperate need of winter jumpers and things, and a Nars blush. But I'll stop there because I could go on forever, I'm constantly seeing new things I wish I could purchase!

What's on your Christmas wish list?

My Beauty Wishlist #1

I always have an endless wish list of beauty items that I'd like, today I thought I'd share some of those things with you (I had to miss out about 73974 things because it was so long).

1. Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick from Soap & Glory in Nudist (swatch in picture too). I have heard Fleur rave about this so much and it's made me want to try it. I love lip products that are in that sort of packaging (like the Revlon lip stains), but these gloss sticks are supposed to look more shiny and are a lot more moisturising.

2. Bourjois Healthy Mix serum foundation. So many people seem to love this, and people with all skin types too. It's supposed to be a very light foundation, something which I really need to invest in as my lightest coverage foundation is Wake Me Up by Rimmel and that's still medium coverage.

3. Mac 217 blending brush.  Every brush I own is by Real Techniques, I love them a lot, but I feel I should venture into Mac makeup brushes as everyone seems to love them, despite the hefty price tag. The 217 is perfect for blending eyeshadow out, something which I feel I need.

4. Alpha H Liquid Gold. This stuff is supposed to be a miracle worker, you put it on at night and in the morning your skin apparently looks SO much healthier, brighter, clearer and just nicer. It contains high levels of acid so it helps cellar renewable and it diminishes the appearance of pores. The only thing that puts me off is it's £31 for 100ml…not cheap.

5. MAC powder blush in Melba. This blush is described as a 'soft coral peach' BAM, I instantly want it. Coral and peach are my favourite blush colours. This is supposed to suit paler skin as well. WIN.

6. Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Kalahari.  Neutral eyeshadows are my favourite, so this duo of 'gold confection and sugared cocoa', which are a light brown and a darker more earthy and slightly purple brown, are right up my street.

7. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I don't own either of the Naked palettes, I know I know, I am deprived. I prefer the look of the Naked 2 as the colours aren't so dark or out there, a lot more my type of thing…I want.

8.Michael Todd Honey and Oat Deep Pore Cleanser. I have just run out of my second bottle of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, which I do love but I really want to give something new a try. I ADORE the Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Toner (review here), so it only seems logical that I would try their cleansers next. It says this cleanser is very moisturising, removes makeup, and cleans deep into the pores. Only thing is this says it's 'lightly foaming', as we all know (I hope) foaming cleansers or face washes are bad…so hmm.

9. MAC lipstick in Crosswires. As I am a major lipstick lover it seems mad to me that I am yet to try a MAC lipstick. Crosswires is first on my list! It is a cremesheen so will be nice and creamy and moisturising and the colour is beautiful, a gorgeous pinky orange.

That's it for my beauty wishlist.
