I've never felt entirely happy with my skincare routine, especially my PM one. I've never felt like it was doing much for my skin, and some steps I was taking seemed pointless. It's taken me quite a while to find products that really work for me, but I think my current routine might be a winner.
I'll start by saying I have normal to dry skin, that's quite sensitive. I luckily don't tend to get many breakouts (touch wood), but I feel like my skin needs a bit of help with evening complexion.
Also, I haven't included any face masks in this post as I tend to change them up a lot and don't have a stand-out favourite (recommendations welcome!), so this is just my typical every day evening skincare routine!
Makeup Remover
I always start by removing my makeup with the Garnier Micellar Water (£4.99). I just put some product onto a cotton pad, sweep it across my face and gently remove my eye makeup. I never use makeup wipes, they're not good for your skin at all, are extremely drying and I always found they left residue on my face...nasty.
Cleanser
After using the micellar water I go in with my favourite cleanser, the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (£22). I've tried a lot of different cleansers, but since purchasing this about 8 months ago I haven't used anything else since! I like cleansing balms the best because they seem to melt away any makeup or grub on your face, and they feel especially soothing and gentle on the skin. The Clinique balm is very light-weight, non-greasy and non-drying, you massage it into dry skin then wipe it away with a flannel or muslin cloth that's been soaked in warm water.
Toner
One of my favourite steps is using my Glow Tonic by Pixi (£18), which is an exfoliating toner that you apply to a cotton pad and sweep over your face. Since using this product I've found the surface of my skin to be a lot smoother, more radiant and generally looks healthier. The toner is enriched with glycolic acid which dissolves the bonds binding dulling dead cells to the skin's surface, to reveal the new healthy skin cells beneath. Aloe vera soothes and hydrates, ginseng promotes cell health and skin vibrancy, witch hazel firms and tones, and horse chestnut boosts blood flow. The result is a fresh and radiant complexion.
Facial Oil
This is the most recent step to my skincare, but one I wish I'd discovered sooner! The Pai Rosehip Bio-Regenerate Oil (£22), is an organic facial oil that I like to apply to my skin 3 times a week. It has a high concentration of essential nutrients such as Omega 3, 6, 7 & 9 which fuel the skins natural functions and help to smooth the surface. Antioxidants in the form of carotenoids repair and protect the skin against environmental damage...something we all need! The oil really helps to boost the regeneration of skin cells, which makes a visible difference to the skins appearance.
Facial Serum
A product I'm totally obsessed with and use every single day before moisturiser is Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Serum by Indeed Labs (£24.99). I discovered this amazing serum last winter, and it totally saved my dry skin! It contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid, an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times it's weight in water, so when you apply it before your moisturiser it really helps all that moisturise absorb resulting in hydrated, nourished and plumped looking skin. It's also 100% free from any animal-derived materials, well done Indeed Labs!
Night Cream
Up until a year ago I used a regular moisturiser as my night cream, and didn't understand why my skin never felt quenched and my complexion looked dull. I discovered the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Renewal Cream (£35), and gone were the days of me ever using any other moisturiser at night ever again. This moisturiser is quite light-weight, fast absorbing, and enriched with vitamins such as E which is an antioxidant to repair skin damage, vitamin C which promotes collagen production for a smoother skin surface and vitamin H to replenish. The cream has quite a sweet, orangey scent that I find relaxing and I wake up feeling and looking more vibrant. Top tip - you can buy smaller 35ml bottles of this on eBay (sample sizes) which are much cheaper.
I'm so pleased I finally found a routine that works for me, it took quite a while but it's all about trying different things out. I love discovering new skincare products, so no doubt my night time skincare routine will change at some point, but at the moment I'm happy with it and I can't see why I'd stop using any of the amazing products mentioned.

I keep changing my skincare routine, especially whenever the season changes. I like garnier micellar water and Clinique cleansing balm, they are really good. I heard a lot about the glow tonic, I can't wait to give it a try!
